On September 4, I had the joy of attending the 7th annual Empower HER: Dueling for Dignity at Louie Louie’s Dueling Piano Bar here in Colorado Springs. Hosted by HER Society in partnership with the nonprofit Period Possible, the night brought the community together for music, laughter, and fun with the purpose of supporting women and girls in need of access to feminine hygiene products.

Why Empower HER Matters

Empower HER is about rallying the community to support women and girls facing period insecurity, meaning the lack of consistent access to pads, tampons, and other menstrual care items. In Colorado, too many are forced to miss school, skip work, or go without the dignity of proper care simply because these products aren’t affordable or accessible.

By collecting and donating feminine hygiene products, Empower HER makes sure those essentials get directly to local women and girls who need them most.

Highlights From the Night

Louie Louie’s was buzzing with energy. From the dueling pianos to the silent auction to the conversations happening at every table, the evening was filled with connection and purpose.

We also had the chance to participate in the Battle of the Boxes, a fun and friendly competition where attendees donated period supplies to support their favorite local sponsors. It was a creative way to not only collect products but also celebrate the businesses and organizations stepping up for this cause.

What This Event Means to Electra

As a woman-owned business, being part of Empower HER was especially meaningful. At Electra, we believe in helping people and businesses show up and thrive, and this event reflected that same spirit.

I left the event inspired, hopeful, and proud to call Colorado Springs home.

Looking Forward

A huge thank-you to HER Society, Period Possible, and Louie Louie’s Dueling Piano Bar for hosting such a powerful evening. If you didn’t make it this year, keep an eye out for 2026—it’s more than just a night out, it’s a movement.
